Dr. Maya Ellison earned his DDS from USC in 2003, practiced in California and Virginia for a decade, and opened Northlight Dental in 2013.

The practice covers everything a family needs, but what shaped it was his work with patients other offices turn away. He is now an advocate and educator in treating patients with intellectual disabilities — and the office is built for apprehensive patients: calm rooms, unhurried appointments, sedation on hand.

Yes, all ages. Most consultations are scheduled within a week or two. Call (555) 014-2200 or use the form below and we'll call you back.
We take most major PPO plans and file claims for you. Plans vary a lot, so call with your card in hand and we'll verify your coverage before the appointment. Payment plans are available for anything not fully covered.
Behind the building, first floor. We're at the corner of Beacon and Halstead — drive around back rather than looking out front. Entrance, parking, and restroom are wheelchair accessible.
No. A lot of our patients come in exactly this way. The first visit is just to see where things stand and agree on a plan. Nothing gets treated that day unless you want it to.
Exam, digital x-rays, and a conversation about what you want fixed and what your budget is. You leave with a written plan and clear costs. Mention anxiety when you book and we'll build sedation in from the start.
Nitrous for mild nerves — wears off in minutes. Oral sedation goes deeper and needs a ride home. IV sedation with Dr. Tran is for severe anxiety or long treatment in one sitting, and needs about a month's notice.
Yes — it's what this practice is known for. Dr. Ellison has treated patients with moderate to severe disabilities for over a decade and teaches other dentists in it. Please call before booking so we can plan the appointment.
